What FaceRat does

FaceRat is an entertainment app: you submit a face photo and receive a humorous AI-generated analysis (a roast, tips, and a celebrity/character lookalike match).

Photos

When you run an analysis, your photo is transmitted securely to our server and forwarded to AI providers (OpenAI for the humorous analysis, Face++ for optional face attributes) solely to produce your result. We do not store your face photos on our servers. A one-way hash (fingerprint) of the image is kept for abuse prevention; the photo itself cannot be reconstructed from it.

What we store

• Installation ID — a random identifier for your app installation (not your identity).
• Analysis results — the generated text and match scores, tied to the installation ID, to power your history and the rankings feature.
• Rankings data — your celebrity match and score. Visibility on public leaderboards is controlled by you in Settings; you can hide or permanently delete this data at any time ("Delete my ranking data").
• Optional account — if you sign in with Google or Apple, we store your account identifier, email, and display name to enable social features.
• Social content — posts, comments, likes, and follows you create.
• City — if you join "Near you", we store the city you choose or the city derived on your device from coarse location. Exact coordinates are not sent to or stored by our servers.
• City group content — memes/images, meetup details, and text you post in city groups. Meme images are stored outside the database in Cloudflare R2.
• Purchases — subscription receipts are verified with Google Play / Apple; we store transaction metadata and cryptographic hashes, never payment details.
• Analytics — anonymous usage events (e.g. "analysis completed") to improve the app.
• Push tokens — if you allow notifications, your device's push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging).

Third parties

Data is processed by: OpenAI (analysis), Face++ (face attributes), Google (sign-in, payments, Firebase notifications), SerpAPI (celebrity images), and Cloudflare (hosting). Each receives only what is needed for its function.

Your controls

• Rankings participation, username visibility — Settings toggles.
• Delete ranking data — Settings → "Delete my ranking data".
• Delete account — signed-in users can permanently delete their account and associated profile/social data in Settings → "Delete account".
• Delete posts/comments — in the app.
• Notifications — system permission, revocable anytime.
• Account and data deletion requests can also be sent to the contact email below.

Children

FaceRat is not directed at children under 13 and must not be used by them.
